gametime.

So. riley and i have been paired and have the task of creating a game based on at least 52 cards with the magiscule and miniscule letters. we decided that trying to find four common groups would be a good start and a step towards game development.

I have to figure out how blogspot will allow me to put text with individual photos and not all underneath it, but the photos of our groups go as follows:

Boxers:
these letters have share the common characteristic (or possibility) of having right angles and an overall boxy shape.

Slanters:
these letters all have diagonal lines and tend to not have rounded shapes, but a more angular appearance. reminded me of runes.

Stemmers:
these letters all have long stems either standing along, or attached to a smaller guy, the majority of these are miniscule (lower case) and ascenders (surpassing the x-height) or descenders (going below the baseline)

Rounders:

all of these shapes have rounded or curvy appearance

so.

-we are building on these four groups much as the four suits in a deck of playing cards

-we need to establish a form of hierarchy either within the "suits" or the deck as a whole

-the format of the game as of now will be similar to a fast game of cards like uno where 2-4 players will sit in a circle and take turns playing cards to the center with an emphasis on the hierarchy.

-the goal will be to get rid of all of your cards.

-this game is going to be different from uno or a game with a deck of cards though because each card is different.

-there are not four "3" cards. each card is a different letters.

-we may try to unify them into groups with border or an image on the back side.

i've been drawing skeletons all week.

The structure of your blog entries are effective in communicating what you have decided and what you are planning. Thank you for your thoroughness.

Both you and Riley have interesting diagrams, photos, lists and storyboards to go along with your process. Including it in the blog will help to clarify the decisions that went into getting you this far. It may also help when reflecting on how to advance.

(Formatting the location of the image in the post is a matter of selecting the appropriate radio button after uploading your image (while you're still in the upload popup window).)

(Remember to white balance your photos before posting in the future.)

Where are the skeletons?
