You began with the intentions of translating your handwriting into a bitmap typeface. You then were able to adjust to the constraints of large pixels and made clever decisions such as working from a rectangular bowl and knocking out corners to indicate difference ("a", "d", "o", etc.). The rules are then defied by letters that don't have distinct bowls ("v", "s", "t"). To maintain consistency, you may need to figure out clever ways to incorporate them.
We also talked about exaggerating ascenders and descenders and varying stroke weight ("s"). What came of those investigations? Consideration of the x-height between the miniscule and majuscule could initiate that iteration.
